NGO SC-Delcevo acted in frames of the\nproject \u201cNGO Support Centers in socially and economically deprived areas in\nMacedonia\u201d(Debar, Delcevo, Kratovo, Gevgelija,\nResen, Strumica, Struga, Negotino), funded by FOSI-M and EU and managed by the\nEuropean Agency for Reconstruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the official opening in April\n2004, until ending of the project in September 2006, NGO SC-Delcevo\nsuccessfully achieved its mission in strengthening civil society in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a huge number of newly formed\ncivil associations and the previously formed were activated and motivated with\nnew trained members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were organized 23 trainings by\nregular schedule and 2 special trainings (Lobbing and advocacy and Finance\nsustainability, trainers from COWI-Denmark and MCMS), 29 Local Initiatives,\nNetworking and 3 Visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over 35 000 EURO where given\nas grants for NGOs (13 call for proposals Civic action\nand 13 Internet Approach).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Successfully were organized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– visits to NGO Fair\nSkopje in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and to Regional NGO Fair Strumica in 2006;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– tribune The join\nprocess of Republic of Macedonia to European Union and perspectives<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– several round tables\non different topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Local Government in NGO SC-Delcevo\nsaw a partner through who the voice of the NGO sector can be heard for local\nlevel policy creation and decision making process of high priority meaning for\nthe municipality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of the successful\ncollaboration, the Local Government together with the Mayor of Municipality of\nDelcevo, Mr. Goran Maleshevski decided to provide tthe NGO SC-Delcevo premises\nof 43m2 with access for handicapped persons,\nfree of charge in duration of 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI believe that the project has been very successful so far, taking into account how grateful the NGOs have been to use the Centre\u2019s facilities and library, how many networking activities and initiatives have been conducted, and how appreciated the training sessions offered have been.
